This is a question I ask myself a lot; being unemployed does give you lots of extra time, too much in fact. As I mentioned in another post, when you are in this situation you tend to be down so all the things you “should” do you don’t do. Does anyone else find mondays one of the hardest days of the week? I am very lucky that I have a great husband (yes its legal in NYC) so our weekends together are nice, even if we don’t do much of anything. But then monday comes around and here I am alone again, I have noticed being down more on mondays than any other day of the week. Each day of the week can present its own challenge since loneliness and too much time on your hands can be very difficult. I know other people who are reading this feel the same way I do. We currently have more long term unemployed (one year +) than any other time in our countries history except right after the Great Depression. I am not sure whats going to happen when we all go back to work, will we be stronger and better workers since we have the prospective of being out of the work force; or as they say on TV will we be unemployable since our skills will no longer be applicable. This is also true as the population ages and there are many older workers in the job market. I know there is hope for all of us, I need help with some suggestions, tips, things that have worked and not worked for you. Please let me know what you think and spread the word about this conversation.
